I think it is still helpful to have "essential" and "non-essential" theology, but not for the purpose of avoiding anything, but to say that I can still worship with and affirm as a believer someone who disagrees with me on "non-essential" theology. An example would be the differences in sprinkling vs. immersion baptism.MattPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05035439994905388072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34749839.post-77716150759168673992012-01-11T10:57:35.556-05:002012-01-11T10:57:35.556-05:00True. However, once we do so, we are subject to out own fallibility.Puritan Ladhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02240560332777968090noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34749839.post-62472099020458557962012-01-11T10:48:45.514-05:002012-01-11T10:48:45.514-05:00Puritan Lad wrote:

And we should be open to the idea of our own fallibility, having our own theology being corrected by others who love God’s word, as “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.” (Proverbs 27:17)"<br /><br />I think this is key. All Christians interpret scripture to fit the side of their argument. Once one thinks his interpretation is equal to scripture itself, then communication gets shut down. We all need to realize that all ism's are based on man's interpretation of scripture, and therefore, aren't a complete representation of scripture itself. Ism's are profitable to the understanding of scripture, but ultimately, the truth is in Christ, not man made doctrine.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34749839.post-88250522121482317792012-01-06T08:10:06.180-05:002012-01-06T08:10:06.180-05:00Theology is the way to us ti find truth and faith....Theology is the way to us ti find truth and faith...<br />nice post...joseph-theologhttp://www.theology-online.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34749839.post-42037604043448848222011-12-28T10:00:49.186-05:002011-12-28T10:00:49.186-05:00Right on Mike. They become preoccupied. "So my people are wandering like lost sheep; they are attacked because they have no shepherd. 'My anger burns against you shepherds, and I will punish these leaders.'" Zechariah 10:2, 3 It’s like the pastor’s kid who can’t bear to listen to the dad’s sermons because there is little love in the home. <br /><br />This is an important post.
